Manchester City forward Natasha Flint has been named in England's U19 squad for the forthcoming UEFA European Championship Finals held in Wales later this month.
Mo Marley, has selected her 18 player squad who will face France on Monday 19th August, Wales on Thursday 22nd and Denmark on Sunday 25th.
Marley said: “Both groups are going to be difficult for different reasons but you probably have to say you'd want to avoid the champions, Sweden. But for us it's a case of making sure we take care of our own business, really. We've got a lot to prove because we haven't been outstanding the last couple of years."
Marley’s charges made it to the finals despite losing 5-4 to Serbia in their opening qualifier in April, beating Hungary and Norway in their next two games.
England won this competition for the first time in 2009, with five of that squad being selected for the seniors’ Euro campaign in Sweden earlier this month.
But they exited the U19 Euros at the group stage last season and failed to qualify the year before.
Marley believes Everton forward Nikita Parris will be key to her side’s hopes.
She told uefa.com: “Nikita is a professional player in every aspect and has been in the Under-19s for a lot longer than the rest of the girls. Everyone kind of acknowledges Nikita because she scores goals, but there's a lot more to her game; she leads and defends from the front as well. But it's not just about one particular player, it's about the whole team, and the whole team have sought to improve individually, Nikita included.”
Marley says England’s first target should be to qualify from Group A: “First and foremost we are just glad to be here, but then there is [2014 FIFA U20 Women's] World Cup qualification at stake, so the big task is to get out of the group."
The top two in each group go into the semi-finals on 28th August, with the final three days later at Llanelli's Parc y Scarlets.
City stopper Alex Brooks has been placed on standby.
Manchester City Ladies would like to congratulate Natasha for making the squad and wish her and the rest of the England squad the best of luck in the tournament.
